Intuitive Recovery has been operating within the North West Drug and Alcohol Treatment system for 5 years now and over this time has gained a reputation as a leading tool in the fight against addiction. Our simple yet highly effective intervention is winning applause across all tiers of drug treatment. Put very simply, WE Change Lives, empowering individuals to take responsibility for their drug or alcohol use and make positive, meaningful changes.
At Intuitive Recovery we give our clients an alternative and highly empowering view of addiction, one which takes full responsibility for past use and focuses entirely upon the key skill of saying NO, wherever you are or whoever you are with.
What we do
Intuitive Recovery is an abstinence based intervention for complete recovery from serious addiction to any substance. Drawing upon work within the self-recovery field, I.R aims to give clients a choice when seeking help gaining and maintaining abstinence from drugs or alcohol. We are the natural alternative to NA and AA 12-step methods and aim to provide clients with a non-spiritual solution to their addictive behaviour.
Above all, we see ourselves as “the door out of services” in that we provide the tools for clients to stand on their own two feet, able to remain abstinent without the need for endless support groups, able at last to redefine themselves as ex-users, as opposed to “addicts in recovery”.
Our graduates do not need to continue attending services with others “in-recovery”, as they are free to make their own choices as to their futures and what they wish to do.

We teach easy to follow skills, intuitively, and teach how to install a meaningful plan to NEVER USE AGAIN. As such our program is challenging for clients and keyworkers alike. We pride ourselves on enabling individuals to stop scripts and leave treatment. Our reputation is second to none and our retention and completion rates are the best in the country.

2010/11 was another year of record growth. As our table below shows, Intuitive Recovery is experiencing rapid expansion. This growth is not the trick of a large marketing department - our reputation and growth has been achieved entirely through word of mouth - people talking to people about how the course has impacted in a positive and real way on their lives.
2010/11 commissioning is running at 1800 clients, a remarkable increase on 2009 and we estimate that we will finish the year having completed approximately 2000 individuals through our course.
HM Prison Service
Our course is now running in five North West prisons to overwhelmingly positive acclaim. HMP Liverpool, Altcourse, Wymott, Preston, Lancaster Castle and Kirkham all are seeing the huge benefit self-recovery brings to people looking to make positive changes in their lives. The course format lends itself well to this group of clients and we expect this area of our work to grow substantially over the coming year.
Costs - Classroom
Intuitive Recovery is highly cost effective. The course is classroom based and accredited to the Open College Network, ensuring best practise at all times and awarding our graduates a nationally recognised qualification.

All costs are exclusive of VAT which is charged at the prevailing rate, currently 20%. Prices current to April 2011.
Costs - Web Based Course
This service is offered as an annual subscription, giving clients a full year to practise our skills and sit the full course.
This is available at a cost per client of £150.00 exc of VAT. Discounts are available for bulk purchases.
